André Sapir

André Sapir is Professor of Economics at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he holds a chair in international economics and European integration. Since May 2001, he is also Economic Advisor to the President of the European Commission. He was the Chairman of the High-Level Study Group appointed by President Prodi which authored the report “An Agenda for a Growing Europe”, released in July 2003 and published by Oxford University Press in March 2004. He holds a PhD in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
